Unoffical News & How-To's about the cryptocurrency $BANANO

Kalium iOS sneak preview

Many are waiting for the iOS version of Kalium, the slick official mobile Banano wallet already out for android.

Now below is a sneak preview showing a real Banano transaction on an iPhone! So it can’t be that long until a beta version will be released through testflight 😉

Banano social media channel recap January 2019

Many members of the Banano community actually might not know all social media channels. And there’s no ultimate need to know all of them or even be active there.

Still, it’s supportive for any cryptocurrency project to have active communites in all main social media channels to present the project and have multiple channels to attract and welcome potential new community members.

The Banano discord surely is the center and heart of the community, but many people also appear to prefer being active at reddit, twitter, instagram, telegram or facebook. Which is totally fine. Just be aware there are really lots of giveaways and games going on at the Banano discord almost all the time, sometimes also coupled with Banano rain. Tipbots are currently active at reddit and discord. Still, there also have been regular giveaways in other channels recently.

So think about it, here’s a short list of all official main accounts and current follower counts as of January 1st, 2019 (will try to follow this up regularly):

Medium (25)
Discord (16326)
Reddit (1248)
Twitter (2275)
Instagram (600)
Facebook (559)
Telegram (742)
Youtube (153)

How to vote (only possible once):

1. Register at Buzzex.io

2. Click on “Voting” at the top of the website

3. Find “Banano” (search for ban only, otherwise it won’t work) and vote

Done! You’ll get additional Buzzex coin rewards for certain bounties and for completing KYC, check details here.

How To Earn Banano with the Banano Meme Faucet

Yes, you heard it right, there is a $BANANO meme faucet, and here’s how to use it to earn Banano.

In this faucet, you’ll need to describe and identify memes (and other images) to prove you are human. So it’s basically proof of (meme-)work. This faucet is aiming to make sure bots or cheaters have no chance, and only real people will earn precious Banano through a fair distribution. Find other options to get free Banano at banano.how.

First, you register with your Banano address on the Banano meme faucet website: https://image.faucet.banano.peppersoft.net/

If you don’t have a Banano address yet or don’t know Banano yet, get help getting started at https://banano.how first.

In the future, whenever coming back you can login with your Banano address, so remember which Banano address you used to register.
Edit: If you get an error message like “Error: IP not registered. Please create a new account to register the IP.” you will need to register again with another BANANO address. This is sometimes required in order to prevent cheating.

Next, the Faucet rules pop up. Make sure to read them. If you try to spam or abuse this faucet you’ll be blocked and get no Banano. All submissions are manually checked by humans, so don’t try to get away with sloppy or inappropriate image descriptions, or any kind of spam.

Then you get started, and you will see two different kinds of options:

As below, you sometimes have to select the correct description. You have 60 seconds to chose. If all four answers are incorrect, click “Report”. Otherwise click “Submit answer“:

You will then see images that need a description, and for this you will get Banano. Just describe what you see:

That’s it, just keep going, and after your submissions have been checked you’ll get your Banano directly sent to your address.

Surely not as exciting as Banano Runner (rumors say it might come back soon), but for now at least it is an ongoing faucet!

General discussion at r/banano here.

NOS token airdrop for Nano holders

NOS tokens are airdropped to all Nano holders at a rate of 10:1. The snapshot was taken on November 13.

NOS is a utility token of a new DAG-based stablecoin projekt. It is forked from Nano similar as Banano.

From the NOS announcement:

Am I eligible for the airdrop?

You are eligible for the airdrop if you held Nano during the snapshot taken on November 13.

To make sure that only rightful account owners receive their NOS tokens, only users who are in control of their private keys are eligible for the airdrop. This means that exchange accounts like Binance or OKEx are excluded from the airdrop.

We reward all accounts that have broadcasted at least one block to the blockchain and contained at least 1 NANO of funds in total (regardless if pending or pocketed).

Claiming the airdrop is quite easy, do it here.

If you need help, find more details here in a medium article.
