Round 5 has started! BANANO Meme Faucet is back online and pays 15 Banano per image description.
Here’s a general Banano Update at medium
View at Medium.com
Many are waiting for the iOS version of Kalium, the slick official mobile Banano wallet already out for android.
Now below is a sneak preview showing a real Banano transaction on an iPhone! So it can’t be that long until a beta version will be released through testflight 😉
Many members of the Banano community actually might not know all social media channels. And there’s no ultimate need to know all of them or even be active there.
Still, it’s supportive for any cryptocurrency project to have active communites in all main social media channels to present the project and have multiple channels to attract and welcome potential new community members.
The Banano discord surely is the center and heart of the community, but many people also appear to prefer being active at reddit, twitter, instagram, telegram or facebook. Which is totally fine. Just be aware there are really lots of giveaways and games going on at the Banano discord almost all the time, sometimes also coupled with Banano rain. Tipbots are currently active at reddit and discord. Still, there also have been regular giveaways in other channels recently.
So think about it, here’s a short list of all official main accounts and current follower counts as of January 1st, 2019 (will try to follow this up regularly):
Medium (25)
Discord (16326)
Reddit (1248)
Twitter (2275)
Instagram (600)
Facebook (559)
Telegram (742)
Youtube (153)
Nos/Nollar – a project aiming to establish a DAG-based stablecoin named Nollar with Nos as utility token, just released a beta version of their mobile android wallet, which on top of their tokens (Nos and Nollar) also supports Banano and Nano.
As always true for unofficial wallets and beta versions: Be mindful of what you do.
In case you missed it: The Meme Faucet is back online, paying 15 Banano per image description!
Otherwise there are a total of 6 events for $BANANO distribution running right now.

Banano (BAN) already is listed/traded at Mercatox and has won community votings at two other exchanges launching soon, Txbit.io and numex.exchange.
Now here’s another new exchange voting where you can support Banano: Buzzex.io
Buzzex will launch in early 2019. If you register and vote you’ll also get Buzzex Coins (a token issued by the exchange) for free.
How to vote (only possible once):
1. Register at Buzzex.io
2. Click on “Voting” at the top of the website
3. Find “Banano” (search for ban only, otherwise it won’t work) and vote
Done! You’ll get additional Buzzex coin rewards for certain bounties and for completing KYC, check details here.
Txbit.io just released an article giving an update on the exchange launch and Banano/Nano/Nollar listing.
It basically says the official launch of the dutch exchange is delayed, proposed start in January 2019, no exact date given.
It also mentions that all three DAG based coins winning during the voting phase (which includes Nano) will (hopefully) be listed at launch.
Yes, you heard it right, there is a $BANANO meme faucet, and here’s how to use it to earn Banano.
In this faucet, you’ll need to describe and identify memes (and other images) to prove you are human. So it’s basically proof of (meme-)work. This faucet is aiming to make sure bots or cheaters have no chance, and only real people will earn precious Banano through a fair distribution. Find other options to get free Banano at banano.how.
First, you register with your Banano address on the Banano meme faucet website: https://image.faucet.banano.peppersoft.net/
If you don’t have a Banano address yet or don’t know Banano yet, get help getting started at https://banano.how first.
In the future, whenever coming back you can login with your Banano address, so remember which Banano address you used to register.
Edit: If you get an error message like “Error: IP not registered. Please create a new account to register the IP.” you will need to register again with another BANANO address. This is sometimes required in order to prevent cheating.
Next, the Faucet rules pop up. Make sure to read them. If you try to spam or abuse this faucet you’ll be blocked and get no Banano. All submissions are manually checked by humans, so don’t try to get away with sloppy or inappropriate image descriptions, or any kind of spam.
Then you get started, and you will see two different kinds of options:
As below, you sometimes have to select the correct description. You have 60 seconds to chose. If all four answers are incorrect, click “Report”. Otherwise click “Submit answer“:
You will then see images that need a description, and for this you will get Banano. Just describe what you see:
That’s it, just keep going, and after your submissions have been checked you’ll get your Banano directly sent to your address.
Surely not as exciting as Banano Runner (rumors say it might come back soon), but for now at least it is an ongoing faucet!

Today is the last safe chance to register for the Banano airdrop to Dogecoin holders! So here’s a reminder:
All details and step-by-step instructions for claiming the airdrop here in this medium article.
There’s also still a trading competition going on at Mercatox, ending tomorrow, details here.
Also, there are two official giveaways ongoing at BANANO’s twitter and facebook accounts. Details summarized here.
Twitter giveaway: https://twitter.com/bananocoin/status/1067087580838207488
Facebook giveaway (pinned post): https://facebook.com/bananocurrency/
And since I saw many asking, indeed the ratio is not known yet, or hasn’t been communicated. Also, the exact timing of the Dogechain snapshot tomorrow hasn’t been released yet.
General discussion at r/banano here.
Banano is airdropping Banano to Dogecoin Holders! Make sure you register your Dogecoin wallet before November 30th!
Official Airdrop claiming website: https://wow.banano.cc/
More information and discussion at Reddit.
Also don’t forget to spread the word and tell your friends, the claiming window is only open for a short time!
NOS tokens are airdropped to all Nano holders at a rate of 10:1. The snapshot was taken on November 13.
NOS is a utility token of a new DAG-based stablecoin projekt. It is forked from Nano similar as Banano.
From the NOS announcement:
Am I eligible for the airdrop?
You are eligible for the airdrop if you held Nano during the snapshot taken on November 13.
To make sure that only rightful account owners receive their NOS tokens, only users who are in control of their private keys are eligible for the airdrop. This means that exchange accounts like Binance or OKEx are excluded from the airdrop.
We reward all accounts that have broadcasted at least one block to the blockchain and contained at least 1 NANO of funds in total (regardless if pending or pocketed).
Claiming the airdrop is quite easy, do it here.
If you need help, find more details here in a medium article.
So Banano is now listed on its first big exchange, on Mercatox! That is great news!
For those of you who are not that used to trading cryptocurrencies on exchanges yet, here’s a step-by-step walkthrough of how to buy or sell Banano on Mercatox.
In this example, we’ll send some BAN to Mercatox and trade there. You also can send BTC or NANO (here still called XRB) to Mercatox.
First of all go to https://mercatox.com/ and sign up if you have no account yet, otherwise log in.
Next, click on “E-Wallet” on the top left:
Banano is on Mercatox !
The crypto exchange Mercatox just added Banano to their e-wallet! So Banano apparently will be listed at Mercatox, being its first big exchange listing!
You can’t deposit or trade Banano yet, but get yourself ready for it by registering at Mercatox if you haven’t before!
Disclaimer: This post contains a referral link to Mercatox. This is of no disadvantage to you, and any referral commission I would get from Mercatox will be used to cover the costs to maintain this website. Anything on top of this will be rained in #the-jungle at the Banano discord.
As the title says, the website http://banano.how is a really simple one-pager that aims to help people to getting started, and that contains basically all important links you might need.

Thanks a lot to @yekta for helping with the design! Let me know if anything is missing or unclear!
You might have noticed that the monKeys – Banano visual account representations – are everywhere.
At www.monkeygen.com you’ll find a great monKey generator and can try to find one with rare accessories like this guy here:
The creator of all this, @randomizer, also wrote a great article about the concept and reasoning behind this on hackernoon:
