New BANANO Faucet: How to use the BANANO Miner

You might have seen that there’s a new BANANO Faucet: The BANANO Miner!

You easily can get free BANANO from this by using your CPU a little. Of note, you are not really mining BANANO (which isn’t mineable at all, transactions are feeless). Instead, the faucet actually mines webchain by using your CPU, automatically converts rewards to BANANO and sends it to your wallet.
This would still be extremely inefficient, but the faucet is subsidized heavily by the BANANO team, and the proof-of-work here only is used to avoid faucet exploits. Most likely this is the best paying mining faucet ever!

Of note, the mining in this context is just used to have another faucet for the BANANO community that can’t be exploited too easily.

How to get started:

Go to the BANANO Miner website and enter your BANANO address:

Next, you’ll need to set how much of your CPU power will be used. For the start, it’s recommended to set the “speed” to 50% or lower, meaning not all your CPU power will be used. You can also use less Threads of your CPU. Hit start when you’re ready and give it a try:

Monitor your computer for some time. You should try to find settings that work fine for you, i.e. find a balance between mining speed and CPU usage. Make sure your computer doesn’t get too warm! If that happens reduce the speed setting!

After a few minutes you’ll have mined few BANANO. Hit the “withdraw” button to send your “mining rewards” to your wallet. That should normally go quite fast. That’s it 😉

Too annoying and infeffcient? Yes, that’s the downside of classical cryptocurrency mining, which is still used a lot, even though there’s newer solutions around. Let’s be happy that BANANO doesn’t require anyone to use lots of computing power just for confirming transactions. BANANO is green and doesn’t require mining.
