How To Earn Banano with the Banano Meme Faucet
Yes, you heard it right, there is a $BANANO meme faucet, and here’s how to use it to earn Banano.
In this faucet, you’ll need to describe and identify memes (and other images) to prove you are human. So it’s basically proof of (meme-)work. This faucet is aiming to make sure bots or cheaters have no chance, and only real people will earn precious Banano through a fair distribution. Find other options to get free Banano at banano.how.
First, you register with your Banano address on the Banano meme faucet website: https://image.faucet.banano.peppersoft.net/
If you don’t have a Banano address yet or don’t know Banano yet, get help getting started at https://banano.how first.
In the future, whenever coming back you can login with your Banano address, so remember which Banano address you used to register.
Edit: If you get an error message like “Error: IP not registered. Please create a new account to register the IP.” you will need to register again with another BANANO address. This is sometimes required in order to prevent cheating.
Next, the Faucet rules pop up. Make sure to read them. If you try to spam or abuse this faucet you’ll be blocked and get no Banano. All submissions are manually checked by humans, so don’t try to get away with sloppy or inappropriate image descriptions, or any kind of spam.
Then you get started, and you will see two different kinds of options:
As below, you sometimes have to select the correct description. You have 60 seconds to chose. If all four answers are incorrect, click “Report”. Otherwise click “Submit answer“:
You will then see images that need a description, and for this you will get Banano. Just describe what you see:
That’s it, just keep going, and after your submissions have been checked you’ll get your Banano directly sent to your address.
Surely not as exciting as Banano Runner (rumors say it might come back soon), but for now at least it is an ongoing faucet!

When Banano Runner and payment?
The fourth runner event happened on July 4/5 (24 hours) with an improved new Banano Runner version 4.2. Great job @mitchellcairns! The payments for this are still outstanding since thedevs carefully check for bots, but no worries, everyone will receive their payments as usual. It still appears unclear if there will be regular schedule for the Banano Runner faucet game in the future, and if payments will be 1:1 or not.
Monkey Match – another official Banano Faucet game
Coranos has further optimized Monkey Match, and on July 5/6 there was another round for this official Banano Faucet game where you could get free Banano. There surely will be more in the near future, so keep your eyes open.
General comment on faucet games since I saw some people complain: Keep in mind that these faucet games in general must cost you time and don’t make you rich overnight. Still surely a much nicer way to distribute a cryptocurrency for free when compared to basically all other faucets or airdrops. So these games are not primarily made for you to have lots of fun, but to ensure a fair and equal distribution. People in Venezuela or other poor countries will earn enough to make their living with these games, while for most others it is not profitable to play these games. If you like your time more than those games, consider rather buying some Banano directly. 😉
Bananobet.com is now online – with a daily faucet!

How To Buy Banano and the current price
Banano has not been listed at a bigger exchange yet, mainly because it is not that distributed that much. That means there will be faucet games and giveaways to fix this in the intermediate run, as it was announced regularly. However, you can buy Banano for Nano at the discord, but prices have recently gone up quite a bit. Current prize is 2661.66 BAN : 1 NANO.
@ironbfly has posted a nice summary of how to buy Banano through the discord escrow bot at #jungle-bazaar. Check it out if you have any questions.
Otherwise Banano was recently also listed on the small South American Exchange troca.ninja and has a BTC and a TNJ trading pair. I tested it with a small amount and withdrew successfully. However, be careful 😉

Banano Minecraft Server online!
@Ryo Akio created a banano minecraft server and added a Banano tipbot to it. Check it out if you like, it is quite fun. See all the action on the server with a dynamic live map shown at http://banano.cash.
Instructions to getting started: Start Minecraft (multiplayer, server IP: banano.cash). When you first enter, you will set a password for your in-game Banano wallet. Open the chatbox with t and type /register followed by your wallet password twice (in one line). Every time you join the server, you’ll have to /login with your password then. Type /balance to see your address and balance/pay player amount to pay another player/withdraw address amount to withdraw Banano. If you are using an offline client (not premium account) don’t use a premium nickname. If you use a premium nickname you will see a error when you try to join the server. There also is a channel at the discord, #minecraft, which is synced with the in-game chat. You also can ask questions there.

Banano Runner is back!
Exciting official announcement by the game developer Mitchell Cairns:

Banano Runner is a faucet game, and by playing it you can earn free Banano. It has been quite some time since the last runner event, and this is the fourth event in total, so I guess we can look forward to some improvements. See a first impression below.

Weekly Developer Update & 3D Banano Runner Modelling Session
In case you missed it, bbedward recently posted a weekly developers update on reddit.
In this post, we get quite some impression of how relevant and bantastic the discord bots are, that we soon will have mobile Banano wallets and how we even dominate the Nano network 🙂
Discord Bots
The bots got some pretty nice updates this week and last week. Primarily backend-related and not necessarily anything you would notice. Basically:
BananoBot repository is now deprecated and will no longer be updated. A single code base now handles NANO/BANANO and that is located here
Database was migrated from SQLite to Postgres, to eliminate future concerns with multi-processing and writes to SQLite
Transaction processing is no longer in the bot process. Transactions are now sent/received in celery worker processes using redis and task queues to communicate back and forth between the bot and worker processes. Basically it’s significantly faster and more efficient+reliable
With above point, tips are also pocketed instantly when they are processed now – and external deposits should be processed within a few minutes too, except when there’s very heavy rains in the forecast.
This is part of a larger milestone which is to make the bot public and enable banano/nano tipping to anybody on discord with the click of a button. I’ve written up some github tickets to work towards that but I’m a bit busy with other things so it’s going to be further down the road.
If you run a bot (I know a few that do), the update to 3.0 is not trivial – I have some rough instructions in the README and you can message me as well for help.
Mobile Wallets
Some of you have seen the mobile wallet designs by yekta, they’re pretty damn gorgeous. Anyway, i’ve been working on making them reality. The wallet is canoe-based, but the front-end views are being completely re-done along with some other components (encryption, account overview is your “home” view for a default account, etc.). I’ve made quite a bit of progress on them over the last few weeks, there’s still quite a bit of work to do (Yekta has given me mockups of pretty much the entire wallet by now). Anyway it looks good, works really well, but there’s a lot of functionality I still need to implement. I’m not sure how I’m going to open up a beta yet, but there’ll be details in the coming weeks.
How a discord Bot dominates the NANO network
I’m only focusing on the NANO side because its had its main network live for much longer than BANANO obviously, and that makes the overall stats more interesting I think. Sure, BananoBot accounts for 70-ish% of blocks on Banano but Banano mainnet has only been live since April 1 and the bot was in full swing for the mainnet launch. The bots started out as basic tip bots but really have become so much more than that quickly. It’s the primary way people are able to trade banano (and where price information is coming from on creeper), all the features and giveaways keep the community active and participating, rain+giveaways has turned into one of the primary ways to distribute BANANO, and the way the bot is designed itself shows what the network is really capable of (with every tip being a real transaction, good luck trying to do that with another currency). Anyway, keep in mind these numbers are from Graham, the bot that operates exclusively on the Banano discord. These don’t include any from the bot that operated briefly on the NANO discord a few months back (that one made a lot of transactions though), or the one that operates there now.
The nano network overall has ~10.3M blocks (ever-increasing). Graham has produced approximately 1,330,000 blocks since March 28th. If you don’t know that means Graham accounts for almost 13% of all blocks on the entire NANO network. Pretty impressive considering Graham only has transactions from March 28th onward recorded.
Looking at months specifically, Graham accounts for:
~587,800 blocks on NANO during April, or about 45%
~509,200 blocks on NANO during May, or about 42%
And idk wtf is happening in June but we’re over 200,000 for the month, which is something crazy like almost 70% of all blocks for the month of June so far. Data was taken from nanode and put together harshly and quickly. I just think it’s interesting how the banano discord is the biggest producer of blocks on BANANO/NANO by far. Anyway, that’s all I think. Mitch is working hard on the next BRunner, I updated the banano node the other day which has alleviated most of our immediate issues, and the air drop happened so that’s alright. So stay tuned for all that – BRunner v4, monKeys, mobile wallet, and more coming in the next days/months.

New Banano Faucet Game starting in a few hours
A new banano faucet by Coranos as tested before twice (see image above from previous testrun) will start in a few hours (5 pm Chicago time), check it out here.
Game is currently in demo mode and says “number of winners over 10000 is 0 of 100″, so apparently the game will run until 100 people have reached 10000 banano”, so probably it will take 24 hours or so.
Edit: Game is still up: “number of winners over 10000 is 1 of 100 with a total payout of 576222 of 2000000.
Game is live. Bananos will be distributed to all verified accounts after a verification period has passed.
(This message will disappear at 5AM Chicago Time on Monday June 18th).”
Server is running very slow currently. Keep in mind that this is not the most exciting game but significantly contributes to Banano distribution to many people. Probably people in poor countries or without a job will preferentially play this more, which is great!

When Banano Runner?
There has been no Banano Runner (faucet game) for some time now, and the last announcement by @mitchellcairns was “Aiming for Mid-June (no promises)”. If you didn’t see it yet, check out the recently released 3D sneak peek video.
Otherwise @mitchellcairns announced at the Banano discord:
“This Wednesday, June 13th at 12PM (PST) we will be holding a live-streamed creation event. Have an obstacle idea that you would like to see in Banano Runner 4.0? Share your ideas in the stream chat, your idea just might end up an actuality! 4.0 is almost ready for launch; the addition of new obstacles and scenery items will make the update more refreshing and more fun to play.”
That is today, so keep your eyes open for further announcements at the Banano Discord #game-testing channel, and I guess the chances are good we will see the faucet game up and running on the coming weekend!
When aidrop? Banano airdrop to Nano holders
The first Banano airdrop has been distributed! If you had Nano at the snapshot date (April 30) and registered your wallet in time (see more information here), then you probably have received the first airdrop to Nano holders on June 11, two days ago.
Statement from @renesq at the discord:
“In case you haven’t noticed yet: All NANO airdrop coins were sent out. A total of 3066 accounts have been credited with a a total of 51M BANANO. You can see if you got some coins by using the BananoVault explorer https://vault.banano.co.in/account/ban_ followed by the account string of your original XRB account. The most straightforward way to get your hands on the coins is to enter your NANO seed in the BANANO webwallet – but it is not the most secure thing to do, in case you still have NANO on the same seed. I will release airdrop statistics once the testnet airdrop is done. If you missed the April 8 snapshot, there will be further airdrops soon. Do not DM me for problems with the airdrop. It is highly unlikely that I made a mistake. Some accounts like the Binance account and the Burn account were disqualified. If you don’t see funds, you may need to “create” multiple accounts on that seed in order to see the balance in the wallet. Happy dumping.”
Check the ratio and get some impression about the ongoing discussion going on about it for example here at Reddit. Since the distribution was done rather equally to all holders and not in the favor of whales getting more Banano, some people were not so happy about it. However, it is clear that there were good reasons to do it as it was done. Note that there will be future airdops obviously, and those might be more linear, i.e. if you have more Nano you will get more Banano for it. If you have problems or questions about how to claim your airdrop or access your dropped Banano, read the announcments, come to the discord and say whatever is unclear.
Free Banano can be won at Nanopoker.club
As mentioned earlier here there are few options how to get free Banano. The easiest one is to come to the Banano discord and contribute, see details for getting started here.
If you didn’t do so yet, check out the website NanoPoker.club. They currently have regular tournaments where you can win Nano or Banano, for free! Last weekend, @mojo won 1000 Banano in a freeroll Banano tournament. The last hand was a legendary Four of a Kind versus a Full House! Congrats! And thanks for sharing the screenshot, @mojo!

The vietnamese community-made website bananoplay.com had a major update and redesign. Basically they copied all texts and graphics from this website and posted them at theirs. They mention at least where the texts came from but did not consider linking here, those uncivilised monkeys! 😉
So should HowToBanano.info ever be offline just go there to find the same content 😉 They also indicated earlier that they would do a World Cup betting platform or game, so keep your eyes open.

New sneak peek video showing Banano monKey technology!
Randomizer just uploaded a sneak peek video at Youtube that shows a 3D monkey generation, and how the monKey will look in future Banano runner games.

We have received a very good response on the monKey concept since the monKey video teaser and the beta release and I wanted to share how the continuing development is going. We are planning to add the monKeys to every Banano app. That includes web apps (Wallets, Explorer) and non web apps (Games). Some of you who are active on our discord channel have already seen how the monKeys are being used as CAPTCHA.
In order to generate the monKey image in the most efficient way we had to create a customized SVG Parser that eliminates all unnecessary data and builds the image as fast as possible – no unnecessary overhead. The API is in its final stages and will provide PNG generation options, SVG generation options and also the monKey metadata which will be used in future development (heard something about premium items achievements :)) <- this is not a double chin smiley face. The final release will be out soon and should be included in the next Banano runner event.
Speaking of Banano runner. Some of you asked how the monKey will look like in the faucet game. I believe that this is a good time to show a sneak peek:
Banano runner and future apps that will utilize the 3D monKey will use a more minimal representation of the monKey – No accessories. The reason is that the monKey needs to run without accessories so it can run faster and collect more Banano in less the time (AKA we will currently not 3D model every accessory as we believe that our resources should be used in a more important priorities).
“But wait, without accessories the monKey is not unique!” Yes, this is how you talk, the faster you accept it the better. Actually, the number of color options is 2563 = 16,777,216. Just with fur color and eye color generation we get 16,777,2162 = 281,474,976,710,656 monKey options. I’d say we are set 🙂

As mentioned in the last recap already, bananoplay.com is developing a betting game based on Banano which will start on June 14 with the FIFA World Cup 2018! You also might want to check out pvp.me – this new betting site does not accept Banano bets yet, but it runs completely in Nano, and you also can earn free Nano, so check it out!
Sook it – Banano game by joinity!
Banano discord’s @joinity has made a new game at banano.land, as already reported before! It now has more levels, and on May 28 there was a community game running organised through the discord. @manpan won it with several others finishing after and getting some great Banano bounties, congrats! Bananoplay.com confirmed as non-official project
The makers behind bananoplay.com just confirmed that they are developing a betting game based on Banano which will start on June 14 with the FIFA World Cup 2018 (source: personal communication at banano discord)! The devs behind are from the vietnamese community, and it is not an official project! Few days ago there was some confusion about the purpose of this website, and if it’s official or not (read post about this here). Now, there is also a statement about this on the website, displaying: “Bananoplay Is A Website Privately Made And Operated By The Banano Community. Bananoplay Is Not Endorsed By The Official Banano Team.” So 24 days to go until we can try it!
Sook it – another new Banano-related game?

Monkey-shaped QR codes
At the discord there was a small scavenger hunting game posted recently by @Yekta. It used different monkey-shaped QR codes with one leading to a Banano wallet seed with some tasty Banano inside. The QR code shape is a cool idea, see an example below:
BANANO price
In the right menu we will provide updates and historic documentation of the current Banano price. Thanks to @Seeker214 and @ChrisTurd for helping with keeping price levels up to date. Both are honorable discord members trading BANANO and NANO in the discord’s #jungle-bazaar channel. The current banano price is 3250 BANANO for 1 NANO.

What is Bananoplay? Scam? Fan project? Leak?
There is a new website that claims to be related to the BANANO crypto project, have a look at bananoplay.com
Looks interesting, however the devs have clearly stated at the discord that this is not official, even though all links apparently go to official BANANO websites and social channels.
There also is a countdown shown which will reach zero when the FIFA World Cup starts, and “world cup” is mentioned, so maybe it will be some unoffical tipping game?
